Why can I make profits from online poker room?

Category: Gambling Capers — admin @ 5:13 pm

Regarding online Poker, I was completely had the same opinion just as the common people which is don’t touch it,otherwise you will lose a lot of money. The reason is simple, I didn’t trust it.I thought it was also a kind of gambling. As we all know, the result of a long-term gambling is losing your money. The gambling sites holders are depend on the 0.5%-5% advantageous probability to obtain the huge profits. But after heard about some successful experience from my friends at online poker room.I decided to do some research on it.Is it really a tool which we can make some porfits with it?

After the investigation, I found that there is more than 500 online poker rooms on the internet, most of them are reputable and worth trusting, and the online poker room is better than land-based poker room,we can make pofits or win money with online poker room easier than land-based poker room.

Why?Because a lot of online poker rooms offer the new players a first deposit bonus, some of them even offer the players a monthly or weekly bonus. For example, partypoker offer the new players a free $25 on first deposit over $50,or 20% up to $100,if you choose to receive the free $25 bonus, you should deposit min $50,then the $25 bonus will be credited into your bonus account, you can not withdraw it unless you meet the Raked Hands Requirment(7 times bonus raked hands within 7 days of making your deposit.)Raked hands are defined as follows: When a minimum of $5.00 is in the pot,a Raked hands is counted.Poker is different from casino,in casino, for example, you play blackjack, when you got 16,the dealer got 10,you cann’t say:oh,I must be lose, can I fold my card and get my money back? But in poker room you can fold you card at anytime(except for the Blinds),without placing bets on the table to meet the Raked Hands Requirment.(To meet the Raked Hands Requirment,I suggest that you play texas-hold’em,choose a table which there is more players sit on and is low bet level,if you fold you card all the time, when you meet the Raked Hands Requirment, you will lose about $12.5,after that the bonus amount is cashable,$25-$12.5,then your profits is $12.5)So if you are a newbie, and you want to profit from poker, you should better deposit $50,get the $25 bonus, play texas-hold’em,select a table which I have mentioned before and fold, fold, fold(unless you have AA) to meet the Raked Hands Requirment and get profits.

What I mentioned above is how can you profit from online poker,it is different between get profits and win from online poker. To get profits what you should do is register real money account at different online poker sites, deposit some money, get full bonus, play texas-hold’em,select a suitable table, fold you card all the time until meet the Raked Hands Requirment and cashout, you needn’t to be a poker professional player.

BTW,there is a lot of poker sites hold daily freeroll tourments,it is free to take part in,and if you got a good place, you will be award for cash prize,it is so good for newbie, you can practice your poker skill and get a chance to win cash prize.

Pineapple Poker – Texas Holdem’s Cousin

Category: Gambling Capers — admin @ 3:33 pm

It’s Texas Holdem, with a twist. At least that’s the way you would see Pineapple Poker described on a drinks menu.

Pineapple poker is a tasty version of Texas holdem in which players each receive three hole cards instead of two. This obviously increases the chances that a player could land a high quality starting hand. So, you can expect to see more players in each pot. The average winning hands are stronger in Pineapple than they are in Texas Holdem.

In Pineapple Poker, players do not keep all three of their hole cards during the entire hand. Instead, they discard one of their hole cards at a designated point in the hand.

After receiving their cards, players engage in a round of betting. Now comes a choice. Many players play the game using this point in the hand to decide which hole card to discard. Discarding your extra hole card before the flop is how to play the more basic version of the game of Pineapple.

But, since you are spicing things up by playing something other than Holdem in the first place, you can decide to play the more popular version of Pineapple Poker called Crazy Pineapple. In this version, which is dealt at several of the online poker rooms, players keep their extra hole card until after the flop is dealt.

Once the flop is dealt and the following betting round is completed, Crazy Pineapple players discard their extra hole card.

For both the basic and the crazy versions of Pineapple Poker, the rest of the hand is played exactly like Texas Holdem.

This derivative of Texas Holdem offers more action, with the familiar gameplay. Players can use any number of hole cards, including none, to make a hand. The betting rules are the same, and if you play Texas Holdem, you already know most of the strategy involved in Pineapple Poker.

But wait, there’s more! Unlike Texas Holdem, there is a popular hi-lo (often called 8 or better) version of the game as well. In hi-lo games, players have a chance to win half of the pot by presenting the best qualifying low hand at the table.

What’s a qualifying low hand? It’s one with five cards with different ranks, all below eight (hence the name 8 or better). The lowest qualifying low hand wins half of the pot. So, players have nearly double the chances of winning.

Low hand ties are broken by reading the cards as one five digit number, with the highest digits first. Lowest number wins. For example, a hand of A,2,4,5,7 would be read as 75,421. A hand of A,3,4,5,6 would be read as 65,431, and would win in a tie-breaker.

Crazy Pineapple 8 or Better is not just some exotic homegame variety of poker, it is also dealt at several of the online poker rooms.

If you want to liven up your home games, consider adding a couple of hands of Crazy Pineapple to the mix. It’s a break from the same ol’ same ol’, but since it’s holdem-based players don’t need to learn many new rules and strategies to enjoy it.

Mongoose has been adding new card games to his mix of social activities. He is responsible for this page on Crazy Pineapple Rules, and also points out there is a guide to finding out where to play pineapple poker online already.

Pyramid Solitaire: A Strategy Guide For Beginners

Category: Gambling Capers — admin @ 5:46 pm

Pyramid Solitaire is a fun solitaire game, with a very distinctive opening tableau in the shape of a pyramid. There is a large element of luck involved, but there are certain strategies that can be used to dramatically increase your chances of winning.

The aim of pyramid solitaire is to remove all the cards from the tableau and the talon. Cards are removed in pairs, when their combined total is 13. The exception to this is with Kings, which are removed on their own.

Cards can only be removed when they are completely exposed (ie: When the whole card is visible, with no cards above them)

The combinations of cards you can remove are:

  • Ace and Queen
  • 2 and Jack
  • 3 and 10
  • 4 and 9
  • 5 and 8
  • 6 and 7
  • King

Whilst the rules for pyramid solitaire are quite easy to understand, the game itself offers come interesting complexities. You have to plan out which cards to remove to maximize potential options later in the game. Sometimes you must leave a card for later in the game, or you will create an impasse. And sometimes you have to carefully remember the order of the cards in the talon, or you will have cards left over at the end.

At the start of the game, scan the first four rows, looking for any situations that will make the game impossible to complete. This happens when all the cards that can be combined with a card occur in the triangle below it.

This occurs because a card cannot be selected until all the cards in the triangle below it are removed first.

For example, suppose part of the deal was like this (Taken from Classic Solitaire deal 20064)

   2
  J 9
 Q J 8
6 J 4 J

All of the Jacks occur in the triangle below the top 2. So to expose the top 2, all the Jacks will have to be removed first… But that’s impossible, because the Jacks can only be removed in combination with the 2’s. We will be able to remove three of the Jacks, but we cant ever remove the top Jack, because the 2 it needs is above it.

So if the four combination cards appear in a cards underneath triangle, then the game cannot be finished, and you may as well redeal.

If only three of the combination cards appear in the underneath triangle, then you have discovered a potential impasse later on. Wherever that fourth combination card is, it MUST be combined with the top card. So, if the fourth combination card is in the talon, you must remember this, and be careful not to use it on any card other than the top one.

Another impasse to check for at the beginning, is to see if all the combination cards appear in the triangle above a card.

For example, suppose the deal was like this (Taken from Classic Solitaire deal 3841)

      7
     8 J
    4 2 4
   A 6 8 2
  8 5 9 Q 2
 7 8 9 7 K 4
K A 5 3 Q 6 10

All the 8’s occur in the triangle above the bottom 5, so the game cannot be finished.

This last case doesn’t occur very often though, so it isn’t worth spending too much time checking for it. Just a cursory glance at the middle 3 cards on the bottom row is normally enough.

So to summarize, before we have even started playing, we check to see if the game is winnable (Make sure there are no cases where the four combination cards occur in the triangle below or above a card). We also check for times when three of the combination cards appear below… as these will need special attention, to make sure we don’t waste the fourth card and create an impasse.

So what about general play?

Well, to start with, always remove Kings whenever you can. There is absolutely no reason not to remove the Kings, because they aren’t used in combination with any other cards, so you gain nothing by waiting.

Another thing to consider is that often there is no need to rush. You can cycle through the talon three times, so often it will be better to wait and see what cards are remaining, rather than jump in and remove a combination as soon as you can.

Finally, try and remove cards evenly between the talon and the tableau. Ideally, you want to finish removing cards from the tableau at the same time as the talon is used up.

You still wont be able to win every game of pyramid solitaire with the above strategy, but you should find your probability of winning has greatly increased.

Learn Pai Gow Poker

Category: Gambling Capers — admin @ 2:25 pm

Pai Gow Poker can be intimidating to the rank novice but it is relatively simple to play once you understand the basic rules of the game. This article takes a look at some of those rules and will help your understanding of this variation of poker.

Pai Gow can be an extremely slow game at times and may frustrate those used to a fast and frantic game of Texas Hold’em. There are a number of “pushes” which makes for a annoying game for new players. If you can understand the rules, as with any game, you can appreciate the way Pai Gow is played.

To start, place your wager. After everyone places their bets, all players receive seven cards. Usually a random generated number will determine which player takes the first set of cards. Players then try to arrange the best five-card and two-card hand. The five card hand is ranked just like any other poker hand.

The dealer or banker will then arrange the banker hand according to the pre-set rules known as the “house way”. The player’s five card hand is compared to the dealer’s five cards and then the two-card hands are compared.

During the comparison, the highest hand wins. If there is a match in both hands, it’s called a copy and the tie becomes a default banker win. If the player beats the dealer with both hands, he or she is very lucky because they get paid even money and then gets to pay the house or bank a 5% commission. If a player wins one hand and loses the other, then the hand is a push. The entire bet is lost if the player has 2 losing hands.

Here’s where it gets tricky. When setting the hands the two card hand can’t be higher than the five-card hand. If it is then it is an automatic loser. The joker can be used to complete a straight, a flush, or a straight flush, otherwise anything else the joker plays as an ace.

Keep in mind, the player can elect to be the banker on their appropriate turn. There are several advantages to the player being the banker which can vary by rules of the casino. The bank is supposed to rotate with everyone getting the chance to be the banker, co-banking is an option for those who perhaps don’t want to or can’t carry the financial responsibility for the hand.

How to play Texas Hold’em

Category: Gambling Capers — admin @ 9:39 am

Both variations of Texas Hold’em (Limit & No Limit) are played with a standard deck of 52 cards, what’s different about Hold’em is how players make their hands. In this popular version of poker, players receive 2 face-down cards – called the hole or pocket cards. These two cards make your starting hand. As betting rounds progress, up to 5 community cards (dealt face up in the centre of the table) will be dealt. The winner is the player who either forces his opponents to fold, or has the best ranked 5 card poker hand at the end of the hand (the “showdown”).

So what hands are better than others? Remember, each player makes their best 5 card hand out of the available 7 (the 5 community cards plus the 2 hole cards) – every player can use the community cards and sometimes the 5 communal cards from the best hand (in which case the pot is shared between all remaining players). Hands rank as follows…

  1. Royal Flush (10,J,Q,K,A of same suit)
  2. Straight Flush (any consecutive 5 cards of same suit)
  3. 4 of a kind (as it says! 4 cards of the same value)
  4. Full house (3 of a kind combined with a pair e.g. A,A,A,5,5 “Aces over 5’s”)
  5. Flush (5 cards of the same suit)
  6. Straight (any 5 consecutive cards, not suited)
  7. 3 of a kind (3 of the same value)
  8. 2 pairs (exactly what it says e.g. A,A,5,5,3)
  9. pair (two cards of same value)
  10. high card (no other hand)

In the result of 2 players having the same hand (e.g. a pair of aces), the high card kicker (the highest card after the Aces) determines the winner.

The order of play in Hold’em is decided by the “dealer button”. This is a visible marker that rotates between the players, in a clockwise motion, before the start of each new hand. The player seated left of the button always acts first in any given betting round. The player who has the button therefore, acts last. This is a huge advantage as this player can wait to see how all the other players act, before making his own decision.

After players are dealt their hole cards, betting begins with the obligatory blinds. These are small forced bets that ensure that every single pot has a value. In Hold’em, the two players left of the button place these small bets. As the button moves before each round begins, so does the obligation to place blinds. It’s always the two players left of the button that pay the blinds. The value of the blinds depends on how big a game you are playing and are only placed on the first round of betting.

So now, we’re set up and ready to gamble – the hole cards are dealt and the blinds are in. Let’s start gambling!

When it’s a players turn to act, he has 5 options.

  1. Call – match a previously made bet
  2. Bet – wager an amount, adding it to the pot
  3. Check – make no bet but stay in the hand. This can only be done if no other player has made a bet before him in this particular round of betting
  4. Fold – drop out of the pot and throw away your cards. Cards should never been shown when folding as this could give an unfair advantage to another player.
  5. Raise – increase the wagered amount

A betting round does not end until all players have either folded or matched the highest amount bet. When ended, all chips are gathered into the total pot and the next card(s) dealt if applicable. Remember the player to the left of the dealer button always acts first (placing a forced blind counts as an action).

The first betting round, the pre-flop betting round, begins with just the hole cards in play. When it is completed, 3 community cards are dealt and the flop betting round begins. Next is the turn betting round where an additional community card is dealt, and, lastly, comes the river betting round – with all 5 community cards now on the board.

A little about Hold’em variations

There are 2 variations of Hold’em – Limit and No Limit.

Limit – Each table has a specific limit. This limit determines the forced blind amounts, for example, in a $1/$2 game the blinds would be $0.5 and $1 to get the action started. The small blind is usually half the value of the big blind. Remember to choose a table that suits the amount you have to gamble, there is no point joining a $10/$20 table with $100 as you stand the chance of being ‘blinded’ out of the game i.e. losing your money before you even have a hand good enough to bet on. In a limit game of $1/$2, the first bet must be $1, a raise would be an additional $1. No more, no less.

No Limit – This is the most popular version of Hold’em. Any player can bet or raise any amount – only limited by the amount he has in front of him! If a player puts their whole stack of chips in, they are going “all in”. If a later player puts even more chips in, the first player does not lose but will only win the amount equal to his own bet. Should there be a third player in the hand, the two players with remaining chips can continue betting as normal. In this case the players’ chips which are all in are matched with the same amount from the other 2 players and are moved to one side as the main pot. The other two players will add any additional chips to what is called a “side pot” and continue as normal.

Choosing Best Online Casino Is Difficult But Rewarding

Category: Gambling Capers — admin @ 6:29 pm

There’s nothing easier than choosing a place to gamble, you say. I mean, googling ‘online casino’, clicking on a link, downloading software and depositing money via VISA or Neteller is a pretty simple task to do. Finding a decent online casino is piece of cake, you think. Well, you had better think again.

Let’s assume that online casino is a product and you want to buy it. So, what do you do? You will go out there and do some researching (maybe it is one of the reasons you are reading this article here, mate?), you compare the prizes, you may even try some of them out and register play money account.

Some casinos offer free casino cash (or no deposit bonuses, as some say) for new players, so they could try the casino out. I recommend you to watch out with that kind of bonuses. Those offers exist only because there are plenty of players who come back for more after they have spent their bonus money.

After you have selected best prizes – I assume that your choice was affected by the number of sign-up bonus percentage and by the payout rate – you have the most difficult task waiting for you. You have to find out which one of these online casinos is the most reputable one. I mean, 99% of online casinos is operated by offshore companies which means that if one of them rips you off, there’s almost nothing you can do about it. Except crying in watchdog forums and hoping for a miracle.

Did I mention online casino watchdogs? Yes, there are plenty of them out there and all of them have online casino blacklists. If you go through some of them, you pretty soon notice some kind of a pattern there…

If you are looking for extra safety and guarantees, you should keep reading. Some online casino webmasters (I am one of them) offer their visitors extra guarantee – if player decides to choose online casino through their site, gambles there, wins some, but online casinos refuses to pay them – these webmasters guarantee to pay back player’s last deposit from their own pocket. Of course, there is an exception, if webmaster finds out if the player has cheated. Believe me, it is a huge extra work for a webmaster to offer this bonus, but is rewarding for all sides of the business.

If you consider yourself high roller, you like to bet big and you play long hours, do not hesitate to contact online casino webmasters, who invited you to play or casino itself, because there is a possibility that you can get extra bonuses and comp points for playing there. If they are not willing to spoil you… well, to hell with them, there are plenty of places who care about you! Good luck!

And the best part is that they are interactive, so you can play and meet with lots of people from around the world. Most of the reputable online casinos offer new features, prizes and bonuses daily so there’s always something new for the online player. Here is what you are likely to find on an online gambling site.

Features of online gambling

The best thing about online gambling is that it has all that a casino offers and more. You can find a variety of casino games like poker, blackjack, craps, baccarat, bingo, lotteries, slots, and more. Not only that but you’ll find many variations of these games as well. Some online casino boast as many as 150 different games and more. There are jackpots and bonuses and some of these sites offer casino credit too.

Some of the other features include tournaments and matches with other players and opponents and exclusive offers like user home pages, e-mail ids and player statistics. The graphics and animation used is superb, and gives the real feel of the casino.

A word of caution though before you gamble at a casino do not be lured in by the biggest bonuses. Always take care while gambling online, and be sure that these sites are registered with the right body and recognized as respected and honest casinos. Especially if you are transferring or betting money online. Also make sure they are virus free and do not cause any irreparable damage to your PC. Have a virus protection program on your pc before downloading any software.

Once you’ve taken these precautions and practised a while you could become the next big jackpot winner!

Money Management: The Real “Smart Money”

Category: Gambling Capers — admin @ 5:51 pm

Money Management: Picking “your” spot

I’m sure we’ve all talked about money management, but how many of us practice what we preach/are preached about it??? After a decade of betting, I never thought I’d be writing articles about restraint when it comes to Sports Betting. I guess it’s easier for me, personally, now that I’ve become a better handicapper. Hitting at a higher percentage sometimes builds patience, but many times breeds “greed”.

I guess I am as guilty as anyone at “singing while I’m winning”. When I’m in the middle of a “good run”, I still tend to fire away at a game that I shouldn’t. But, the “ultimate sin” is chasing your money in the midst iof a losing streak. Or even worse, laying half, or “the whole bankroll” on one game!!!

A wise man once said to me, “They play everyday!!” I knew exactly what he meant, but it took me five more years to “understand” what he meant. The more games you play on a daily, or weekly basis, you lower your percentage of having “longterm” success. It is to the sportsbooks benefit to be an “Action Jackson”, so to speak.

Most of the successful gamblers I know are self-proclaimed “spot players”. I also fit into this category (mostly). These type of players will wait for a game they REALLY LIKE, sometimes not betting for days, or even weeks, until “that game” comes along.

On the other hand, I also know gamblers who have to have “action” on many games (especially TV Games). The key, in my humble opinion, is to be able to sit and watch a game because you like/follow the sport. If you “must” have action on a game to be able to watch it, chances are you aren’t that big of a sports fan. I watch plenty of games that I don’t have money riding on, because 1) I’m a sports junkie, and 2) it is good for scouting a future “spot” play.

It bugs me to watch guys lose over and over because they have no concept of money management. It is always a good idea to write down, and keep track of your bets, review your bet history every so often, mark down the ones (in hindsight) that you felt “really good about”. I can “bet” that you hit most of those.

The popularity of fantasy football has exploded in the past five years. Over 15 million Americans play this amazing game today. Newsstands are littered with magazines about the game, and if you search “fantasy football” on the Internet, hundreds of pages will pop up, with thousands of web sites, dedicated to providing information on how to play and statistics that will arm you with the tools for success.

The fun really begins, though, when you join a league, and you play against others week to week. Now, to get your gambling fix, you can play a variety of ways. There is one Internet league called the Fantasy Football World Series that offers the winner $250,000. But you don’t need the Internet to feed your hunger for football or gambling.

Just find ten or eleven other gamblers, start your own league, and toss in fifty to one hundred dollars toward the prize fund. Voila, you’ve got $500 to $1,000 dollars to compete for. Now, if this isn’t enough, simply add a weekly pool into the mix. Get others in the league to throw in an extra ten to twenty dollars, and give the money to the team that scores the most points each week. If you’re creative, you can come up with many ways to bet on your fantasy football team.

Now, if you’re a real gambler, imagine paying one million dollars to join a fantasy football league. Your league has 16 teams, and it has added to the prize fund, through some investments over a ten-year span. Your league commissioner tells you that this season you are playing for a winner-take-all, lottery-sized prize of $30 million. All you have to do is select the best players in the NFL and win your fantasy football league. Are you trying to figure out the best way to increase your team’s advantage? Are dollar signs dancing through your head? What might someone, desperate to win, do to assure himself victory each week?
